TrainTopia: A Miniature Railroad Odyssey officially launched and opened to the public on July 18, 2018. It is situated on the first floor of the Frisco Discovery Center. The Museum of the American Railroad presents TrainTopia. The arrangement is remarkably similar to how the Sanders family presented it in their house till the full set was gifted to the museum. The museum devoted over a year redesigning the layout and integrating a $60,000 high-tech theatrical lighting system capable of simulating thunderstorms, gradually transitioning from dawn to dusk, and generating night settings in roughly 17 minutes, according to museum president Bob LaPrelle. The display is a present to Amanda and Brint Ryan from Jane Sanders and her daughters. This one-of-a-kind exhibit contains operating G-scale trains on a 2,500-square-foot track, a customized light show that transitions the exhibit from day to night, and countless miniature cars and people. The display encompasses Arizona and Texas, from the stunning rock formations near New Mexico’s Four Corners region to a bustling Northeast Texas in the early 1960s. Additionally, an animated downtown Dallas street scene, a running movie at the Palo Duro Drive-In Theater, West Texas refineries, and active sawmills in Colorado are included.  There is also the Southland Life building, the Mercantile Bank, and the State Theater. There are automobile showrooms and shops up to one street. Further down, there are other stores, street lights, traffic signals – and trains. This installation, which features roughly 14 miles of G-scale track, is likely to satisfy people of all ages.
