Member prices are for active Value Dental Membership Plan members (50% off our standard fee on the Basic Care Plan; Essential Plus members save 55%). Cash/membership pricing; insurance benefits vary. The plan is not insurance and can’t be combined with dental insurance; membership fees apply and fees are due at the time of service. Our standard (usual and customary) fee is shown next to every member price, as Texas dental advertising rules require for any discount. Prices are minimum fees as of October 2026, valid through December 31, 2026; your total may be higher depending on the treatment you need (for example imaging, extractions, bone grafting, a buildup or a different crown). We give you a written estimate after your exam, before any treatment.
Dental savings plan members save 50–55% on treatment. See our in-house dental savings plan.
What Affects the Cost of a Root Canal?
- Which tooth – front, premolar or molar (more canals means more time).
- First treatment or retreatment – redoing an older root canal is more involved.
- The restoration afterward – a buildup, post and crown add to the total.
- Sedation – we offer three methods of dental sedation; ask us about the cost of the option you choose.
- How you pay – membership, insurance benefits, or monthly payment plans through CareCredit and Cherry.
Does Insurance Cover Root Canals?
Many PPO plans cover part of root canal treatment and part of the crown that follows, up to the plan’s annual maximum. Our team will check your benefits and tell you your estimated share before treatment. We’re in-network with many PPO insurance plans and will check your benefits before treatment. We also offer CareCredit and Cherry financing and our in-house dental savings plan for patients without insurance. We do not accept Medicaid or CHIP.
Root Canal vs. Extraction: Which Costs Less?
Pulling a tooth costs less at first (a simple extraction is $179 for members; standard fee $357), but a missing tooth often needs to be replaced later with a bridge, denture or dental implant, which usually costs more than saving the tooth. Read more in Root Canal vs. Extraction.
